Show only first image + image-title of a gallery

Fantastic work with the Gantry Particles you guys 🙂
The JL FEATURE BOX and the JL LIGHT GALLERY are very, very nice.

Question :
How can I open a JL LIGHT GALLERY lightbox when clicking the button in Feature Box ?

I don’t want to go to a new page with a gallery – just want to open the lightbox gallery right from the Feature Box.
And I cant use the JL LIGHT GALLERY because I only show the first image in each gallery with a title (just like the Feature Box) – and then content-text + button on hover. Your galleries show all the images and only show text on hover.

The JL LIGHT GALLERY had been perfect if there was a possibility to select only 1 image + image-title.

Maybe it is possible – and I just don’t know how !!

Hi Torbjorn,

We can create a custom field for Module ID then linking the button to the module using modal popup. See this Modal module particle http://demo.joomlead.com/particles/index.php/particles/modal-module for example

NOTE: You need to create the light gallery (Gantry5 module) module via Joomla -> Modules -> New Gantry5 Particle module -> JL Light Gallery

This is not a good solution because its appear two modal popups, 01 to present the modal gallery in popup mode and another when clicking light gallery items. Please let me know if you wish to implement this feature so I can create a custom particle for you.

Thanks for your ideas regarding my inquiry.
I think you are right – it is NOT the optimal solution.

Is there a way for you to show ONLY the one image in a JL LIGHT GALLERY particle, and all the gallery images when clicking and opening the lightbox ? That would be a really nice feature !!
Then I think I can code a css before/after-workaround, to get some text on the JL LIGHT GALLERY first image.

What do you say ?
Possible with displaying/printing only one image from a JL LIGHT GALLERY on the website – all the rest in lightbox ?

I have seen other Gantry gallery-particles with the options :
1. show/hide by image, item, tag, id, category etc etc
2. show only first
3. show directory (from /images-folder)
etc etc…

The code you provided works. So far.
I’m still doing some testing in different enviroment, several galleries on same page etc – but I will use the the particle on live site later this week.
